About the position

Ready to be part of something bigger? Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is a private nonprofit organization serving the Chapel Hill/Carrboro communities of Orange County. We are dedicated to helping adults with IDD thrive and reach their full potential. We are seeking compassionate and committed individuals to join our team as Personal Care Assistants (PCA) in the greater Chapel Hill, NC area. You will play a key role in delivering quality care to adults with IDD in a group home setting. With flexible scheduling and competitive pay, working as a Personal Care Assistant at RSI is a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, and medication administration.
  • Respond to medical or behavioral needs during the day program following established procedures.
  • Foster a positive and empowering atmosphere, encouraging residents to engage in social, recreational, and skill-building activities.
  • Document observations, incidents, and interventions in resident records.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, case managers, healthcare professionals, and families to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment through light housekeeping and safety checks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD or in a caregiving role preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse individuals.
  • Calm, patient, and compassionate demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Basic understanding of medical procedures or willingness to learn and follow protocols.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
