About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role at Right at Home involves providing essential personal care and support to seniors and adults with disabilities. This position is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. The PCA will work in a flexible environment, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time schedules, and will be equipped with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety while caring for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with transferring/moving clients from place to place throughout their home
• Performing housekeeping activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying clients on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing, showering, dressing, and shaving clients
• Providing medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Offering dementia care
• Engaging in companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Requirements

• One year of personal or professional caregiving experience
• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
• Ability to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
• Pass a background check
• CNA, Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide certification preferred but not required
