About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is a part-time position focused on providing essential personal care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The PCA will work primarily on weekends, assisting clients with daily living activities and ensuring their well-being through attentive care and companionship.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and changing bed linens.
• Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, re-positioning, and movement of clients.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and community outings.
• Observe, monitor, and record clients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes promptly.
• Provide services specified in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) essential for the health and welfare of the person.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• CPR Certification.
• Ability to take vital signs.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Entry-level patient care experience.
