About the position

Right at Home Colorado Springs is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our team in Woodland Park, CO. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, who are primarily seniors and adults with disabilities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform a variety of personal care activities that assist clients with their daily living needs. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with transferring and moving throughout their homes, performing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and laundry, preparing meals, accompanying clients on errands or medical appointments, and providing companionship through activities like reading and puzzles. Additionally, you will be responsible for medication reminders and assisting with prescribed exercises, including dementia care. Responsibilities

  • Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
  • Performing housekeeping activities including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Dementia care
  • Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Requirements

  • Must live in or be willing to commute to Woodland Park (80863)
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
  • Possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
  • Pass a background check
  • Possess or willing to obtain a valid TB test
  • Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in home health care or personal care assistance
  • First Aid and CPR certification
