About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role involves providing essential support to an elderly male client in the Collegeville area. The PCA will assist with daily living activities, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments, ensuring the client's health and well-being. The position offers flexible scheduling, primarily during weekends, and requires a compassionate individual who can maintain confidentiality and observe changes in the client's condition.

Responsibilities

• Assist with eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide transportation to and from appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as bed making, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Prepare meals and provide medication reminders.
• Observe and report changes in the client's physical and mental status to the supervisor.
• Document daily care and services provided.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience in healthcare or personal care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document care and report changes effectively.
• Problem-solving skills and good management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in personal care services.
• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
