About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role involves providing essential support to patients in their daily activities, focusing on personal hygiene, minor medical needs, and light housekeeping. The position is crucial for ensuring that patients receive the care they need while maintaining their dignity and comfort. The PCA will work closely with nurses and other caregivers to monitor patient conditions and report any changes, all while prioritizing the patients' needs and preferences.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and other daily tasks.
• Perform basic health care services for patients including checking vital signs.
• Help with general light housekeeping.
• Make transportation arrangements as needed.
• Work with a nurse and other caregivers and in-home care professionals.
• Observe and report on patient condition.
• Keep up with in-service training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to provide references.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Have good personal hygiene.
• Able to do light housekeeping.
