The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a crucial role in providing essential personal care and homemaker companion services to clients, enabling them to maintain their independence in their own homes. This position is part-time and requires a compassionate individual who can follow an established plan of care tailored to each client's needs. The PCA will assist clients with various personal care tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting their overall well-being. In this role, the PCA will provide assistance with safety supervision, showering, dressing, grooming, skin care, ambulation, and range of motion exercises. They will also help clients with the safe use of equipment and assistive devices, such as walkers, and prepare meals as needed. Companionship is a vital aspect of this position, as the PCA will engage with clients to provide emotional support and companionship, which can significantly enhance their quality of life. Additionally, the PCA will perform homemaking activities, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning the client's bathroom. They will also assist clients with medications that they self-administer, ensuring that clients adhere to their medication schedules. On-site and online training will be provided to equip the PCA with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
