Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) at BoldAge PACE play a crucial role in delivering personal care services to participants in the day health center. Under the supervision of the PCA Supervisor, the PCA is responsible for assisting with various personal care tasks that are essential for the well-being of older adults. This includes providing assistance with daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding, and ambulation. The PCA is expected to follow individual treatment plans and ensure that the care provided aligns with the specific needs of each participant. In addition to personal care, the PCA is tasked with monitoring the health and safety of participants, reporting any observed changes in their conditions to the Operations Director or other clinical staff. Effective communication is vital, as the PCA must proactively address any health concerns and interact with participants and their families in a friendly and professional manner. The role also involves participating in social and recreational activities, which are important for the mental and emotional well-being of the participants. The PCA may also assist with food service delivery during mealtimes and accompany participants to outside clinical appointments when necessary. This position requires a compassionate approach and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults, ensuring they can live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
