About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at CareMaxx is responsible for providing compassionate care and support to clients, particularly seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and fostering a supportive environment. The PCA will engage clients in recreational activities and maintain a trusting relationship with them and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and develop friendly relationships with seniors and their families.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming and bathing.
• Help with transfers using equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, and hoyer lifts.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
• Provide occasional transportation and accompany seniors to grocery stores, doctor's appointments, and pharmacy visits.
• Observe and report any changes in the client's mental, physical, or emotional condition to the supervisor.
• Maintain a trusting and comforting environment in the home.
• Familiarity with oxygen equipment and assist with self-administered medication reminders.

Requirements

• Previous homecare experience (at least 1 year, required).
• PCA certification or CNA license is a plus.
• Enjoy working with seniors or clients with physical disabilities.
• Applicants must be 18 years and older.
• Caring and compassionate demeanor.
• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Driver's License and Auto Insurance, Reliable Transportation.
• Criminal Background check.
• CPR Certification (required).
• Current TB Test (required).
