About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Melmark is responsible for providing supervision and personal care to individuals in a private school setting, focusing on promoting their intellectual, emotional, and social growth. The PCA will assist in data collection and implement individualized programs tailored to children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement all procedures as written in each individual's Behavior Support Plan and/or Protocol Summary.
• Attend to and maintain individuals' hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs.
• Maintain Level of Supervision (LOS) for assigned individual(s) at all times.
• Request assistance from a coworker or supervisor if assigned LOS cannot be maintained.
• Accurately collect data on all targeted behaviors for acceleration and declaration on assigned individual(s).
• Maintain an appropriate level of functional engagement with individuals at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• A valid US driver's license for at least 2 years.
• Minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.
• Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.

Nice-to-haves

• At least one (1) year experience with specialized populations.
