About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Vancrest of Van Wert, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This position is designed for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to providing exceptional personal care and support to those in need. The PCA is responsible for ensuring that residents' personal care needs are met with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness. You will work closely with the nursing staff to address residents' medical needs, ensuring that they receive quality nursing care and that any concerns are promptly reported to the charge nurse. In addition to personal care, you will maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment for the residents. This includes ensuring that the nutritional needs of residents are met according to their established care plans and reporting any issues to the appropriate director. The role may also involve performing other related activities as assigned or requested, which may include assisting with medication needs and ensuring that residents are comfortable and well-cared for at all times. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and a willingness to assist residents in a variety of ways, contributing to their overall well-being and satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.
  • Ensuring that residents' medical needs are addressed through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to charge nurse.
  • Maintaining a physical environment in a clean, safe and pleasant manner.
  • Ensuring that nutritional needs of residents are met in accordance with established care plan and reporting to appropriate director.
  • Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
  • Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements

  • Move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Assist with the evacuation of residents.
  • Read/write English language.
  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • STNA not required, but preferred. Will state test if not certified.

Nice-to-haves
