About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role at Indy Superb Care Agency involves providing compassionate support and assistance to individuals in their homes or care facilities. The PCA is responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Help clients with mobility, including transferring in and out of bed or chairs and using mobility aids.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with feeding as needed.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed and assist with basic health monitoring.
• Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in conversation and activities.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
• Assist clients with transportation to appointments or social activities.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and any changes in the client's condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in personal care or health services is a plus.
• Previous experience as a PCA, caregiver, or in a similar role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work compassionately with diverse populations.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; PCA certification or Home Health Aide certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• CNA certification preferred.
• Certified Home Health Aide certification preferred.
