About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional care to our patients in a variety of settings, including clinics, outpatient facilities, and emergency departments. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the medical team in delivering high-quality care, assisting with daily living activities, and promoting patient comfort and dignity. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to the care of others and are committed to delivering outstanding service. The position is part-time, with shifts primarily scheduled from Monday to Friday in the evenings and on weekends. The case starts immediately, and the hourly rate is $14. In this role, you will provide personal care and assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. You will assist with mobility and transfer patients as needed, and support them with meals and snacks, including feeding when necessary. Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the medical team is also a critical part of your responsibilities. You will assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, ensuring that patients' rooms are tidy and that supplies are restocked. Providing emotional support and companionship to patients is essential, as is collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. You will document patient care activities and progress and participate in continuing education and training to stay current with the latest medical procedures and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with mobility and transfer patients as needed.
  • Assist with meals and snacks, including feeding patients when necessary.
  • Support patients with daily living activities, such as using the bathroom, washing hands, and brushing teeth.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and clean environment, including keeping patients' rooms tidy and restocking supplies.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document patient care activities and progress.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with the latest medical procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in a caregiving setting.
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with geriatric care principles and practices.
