The Personal Care Assistant will be responsible for providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities, and creating a safe and supportive environment for clients. This role requires a commitment to fostering meaningful relationships with clients and their families, maintaining accurate records of client interactions, and adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols. The position is part-time, with specific shift schedules that include evenings and weekends, and may require flexibility to accommodate the needs of the clients. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in achieving this mission by providing essential support and care to those in need. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving, with at least two years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities. You will be required to have a valid CPR certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a Level 2 background check. Additionally, you must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. This position offers a starting pay of $16.00 per hour, with opportunities for raises based on performance and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and personalized care to individuals with disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
• Create a safe and supportive environment for clients.
• Foster meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
• Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols.
• Adhere to all policies provided by APD and the personnel policy of A Guiding Hand LLC.

Requirements

• Must have an active Level 2 background check.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• 2 years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.
• Required trainings/certificates: HIPAA, Zero Tolerance, HIV/AIDS/Blood borne pathogens, Basic First Aid, Health and Safety Direct Core Competency and other trainings as required.
• CNA license is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have reliable transportation, current vehicle registration, and full coverage vehicle insurance.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in caregiving for 3 years (preferred).
