The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is designed to provide essential support to clients in their daily personal care tasks, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position involves assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, while also offering companionship and emotional support. The PCA plays a crucial role in monitoring clients' health and behavior, making it a vital position in the caregiving field.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Help clients with mobility and physical activities, including transferring and repositioning
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
• Assist with meal planning and preparation
• Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry
• Monitor and report any changes in client's health or behavior to the appropriate personnel

Requirements

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
