About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role involves providing individualized support to students with various needs, including autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, intellectual disabilities, and medical or physical requirements. The PCA will assist students in both academic and social activities throughout the school day, ensuring their personal care and grooming needs are met. This position is temporary and contingent upon the specific needs outlined in the student's individualized educational program (IEP).

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one with a student with specific needs in the classroom and during specials, lunch, and recess.
• Assist the student with daily activities, both academic and social.
• Utilize crisis prevention techniques and strategies as needed, including possible restraint as a last resort.
• Support the student in meeting their grooming and personal care needs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) is required.
• No prior experience is necessary.

Benefits

• Additional $1.25 per hour if student toileting is required.
