About the position

Interim Healthcare of SW Virginia is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to provide essential home services to clients in the Critz, VA area. This role offers the flexibility to work when and where you want, allowing you to create your own schedule that fits your lifestyle. As a PCA, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety in their homes. The position is available for both part-time and full-time work, with the opportunity to choose your own hours, particularly during weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of essential functions that include assisting clients with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and ambulation. You will also perform light housekeeping duties, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping. Additionally, you will help clients with medication reminders, promote healthy movements and diets, and assist in setting up doctor appointments. It is vital to observe and report any changes in the client's mental, physical, and emotional condition or home situation to the Nursing Supervisor, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and ambulation.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and meal preparation.
  • Assist with grocery shopping for clients.
  • Provide medication reminders and promote healthy movements and diets.
  • Help clients set up doctor appointments.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • PCA certificate from an approved program.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Up-to-date TB test.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
