About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Vancrest of Van Wert, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. In addition to personal care, you will maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment for the residents. This includes ensuring that their nutritional needs are met according to established care plans and reporting to the appropriate director. You will also be responsible for ensuring that residents' medication needs are met, which is a critical aspect of their overall care. The role may involve performing other related activities as assigned or requested, making it essential to be adaptable and responsive to the needs of the residents and the facility. The PCA position requires physical stamina, as you will need to move, sit, stand, bend, and lift intermittently throughout your workday. You will be expected to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds, and assist with the evacuation of residents when necessary. This role is vital in providing a supportive and caring environment for our residents, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.
  • Addressing residents' medical needs through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to the charge nurse.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment for residents.
  • Ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met in accordance with established care plans and reporting to the appropriate director.
  • Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
  • Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements

  • Ability to move (sit, stand, bend, and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with the evacuation of residents.
  • Ability to read and write in the English language.
  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification is preferred but not required.
