About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Vancrest of Hicksville, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. In addition to personal care, you will also be responsible for addressing residents' medical needs by delivering quality nursing care and effectively communicating with the charge nurse regarding any concerns or changes in the residents' conditions. Maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant physical environment is crucial, as is ensuring that the nutritional needs of residents are met according to their established care plans. You will also be tasked with ensuring that residents' medication needs are met, which requires attention to detail and adherence to protocols. The role may involve performing other related activities as assigned or requested, making flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities essential. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.
  • Ensuring that residents' medical needs are addressed through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to charge nurse.
  • Maintaining a physical environment in a clean, safe and pleasant manner.
  • Ensuring that nutritional needs of residents are met in accordance with established care plan and reporting to appropriate director.
  • Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
  • Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements

  • Move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Assist with the evacuation of residents.
  • Read/write English language.
  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • STNA not required, but preferred. Will state test if not certified.

Nice-to-haves
