About the position

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, providing companionship, and supporting clients with various health-related needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Provide personal care in accordance with resident rights and individual care plans.
• Support clients with dementia care and long-term care needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Help with mobility assistance and transfers to ensure client safety.
• Monitor client health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, including light housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home community care or as a caregiver is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques and long-term care practices is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of resident rights and direct support principles is beneficial.
• Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to clients' dietary needs.
• Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held is required.
