About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Right at Home, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to seniors in your community. You will assist clients with activities of daily living, which may include personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, toileting, and grooming, as well as helping with mobility, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. In this part-time role, you will have the flexibility to arrange your shifts to fit your schedule, allowing you to balance work with other commitments. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $18 to $22 per hour, depending on your location, level of training, and type of shift. You will also benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities, ensuring that you are well-equipped to handle the unique needs of each client. Additionally, you will receive paid travel time between clients and mileage reimbursement, making it easier for you to serve seniors in your own community. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, and light housekeeping.
  • Provide assistance with the use of devices for aid in daily living, including canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Help clients with prescribed range of motion exercises and special diet preparations.
  • Measure and prepare special diets as required by the client's needs.
  • Perform other assigned activities as taught by a nurse for specific patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Registered with the State of California (assistance provided).
  • Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and ability to handle job demands effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Valid driver's license and access to an insured automobile for work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in personal care or healthcare settings.
  • Certification in CPR or first aid.
