About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Right at Home, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to seniors in your community. You will assist clients with activities of daily living, which may include personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, toileting, and grooming, as well as helping with mobility, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. In this role, you will be expected to perform various tasks that are tailored to the specific needs of each client. This may involve assisting with the use of mobility devices, helping clients with prescribed exercises, and preparing special diets as needed. You will receive on-the-job training to ensure you are well-equipped to handle unique client situations and provide the highest level of care. The position offers flexible scheduling options, allowing you to arrange shifts that fit your personal schedule while serving seniors in your own community. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, and light housekeeping.
  • Provide assistance with the use of mobility devices like canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Help clients with prescribed range of motion exercises and special dietary needs.
  • Perform other assigned activities as taught by a nurse for specific patients.
  • Maintain a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and effectively manage the demands of the job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle for work or access to adequate transportation.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Open to undergoing a criminal background check as required by the state of California.
  • Registered with the State of California (assistance provided).

Nice-to-haves
