For over 60 years, St. Vincent's Special Needs Services (SVSNS) has been a trusted provider of specialized services for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, such as cerebral palsy, acute brain injury, neuromuscular disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Each year, more than 400 children, adults, and their families receive services from the organization. As a Personal Care Attendant, you will provide informal training and direct care to clients based on person-centered plans, individual needs/requests, and daily household operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that clients receive the support they need to thrive in their daily lives. You will be responsible for supervising, training, and assisting clients in accordance with their person-centered plans, which includes personal care, recreation, and reinforcement of individual habilitation objectives. Additionally, you will ensure that clients' personal property and adaptive equipment are clean and in good order, including wheelchairs, clothing, and living spaces. You will also play a vital role in planning, scheduling, and transporting clients to work, appointments, and community activities. Documenting routine medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and/or health care professionals is another key responsibility. Furthermore, you will assist individuals with meal preparation, encouraging good nutritional habits and adherence to prescribed diets. This position is not just about providing care; it is about making a difference in the lives of those you serve.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Driver's license required.
