About the position
The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) role at The Medical Team involves providing essential care and support to geriatric patients in Independent Living Facilities. The position requires a compassionate individual who can assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, medication reminders, and mobility support. The PCA will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring high-quality patient care and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily incontinence care and medication reminders.
- Provide support with bathing, transfer techniques, and other personal care needs.
- Escort clients as needed and respond to their requests for assistance.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and their families regarding care plans.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
- Valid CNA or PCT certification is required.
- CPR/BLS certification is required or must be obtained.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in caregiving for the elderly population.
- Familiarity with perineal care techniques.
