About the position

The Personal Care Med Tech position at Fairmount involves providing compassionate care to elderly residents transitioning from independent living to assisted living. This role requires a current certification to administer medications in Pennsylvania and focuses on delivering resident care in accordance with established plans while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver resident care in accordance with the Resident Assessment and Support Plan (RASP) with direction from supervisory personnel.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including eating, bathing, incontinence care, oral hygiene, dressing, ambulation, and positioning.
• Assist residents with telephone use, processing laundry, and tidying up their rooms.
• Assist with activities as needed.
• Serve drinks and deliver meals in the dining room, helping residents with meal choices.
• Order supplies and ensure accurate charging of supplies to residents using an electronic charging system.
• Perform resident transfers per Fairmount policy.
• Report changes in residents' conditions promptly to the Charge Nurse.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards throughout the facility.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and intake and output accurately.
• Present each resident with a neat and clean appearance.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and post-mortem care procedures.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Follow all quality assurance/infection control standards.
• Accurately document on the resident's electronic and paper record.
• Administer medications and complete treatments per physician's orders.

Requirements

• Current certification to administer medications in PA Personal Care Home (Med Tech) required.
• Ability to assist residents with daily living activities and provide compassionate care.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in a care facility.
• Ability to accurately document resident care and changes in condition.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a personal care or assisted living environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
