About the position

The Personal Care Medication Aide/Caregiver is responsible for distributing medications and providing general caregiving duties to residents. This role advocates for residents' well-being, promotes psychosocial health through relationship building, and collaborates with the household team to meet social service needs. The aide also plans and facilitates social activities, maintains a clean environment, and assists with personal laundry.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute medications and treatments to residents.
  • Provide medical and physical care to meet daily needs of residents.
  • Promote residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationships.
  • Plan and facilitate social activities for residents.
  • Support the household homemaker in maintaining a clean environment.
  • Assist residents with personal laundry.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older unless active on the Nurse Aide registry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required unless active on the Nurse Aide registry.
  • Ability to successfully complete required medication training.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with older adults preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in caregiving or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures.
