The Personal Care Support Assistant plays a vital role in providing essential support to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Monitor and record patient observations, including changes in condition or behavior.
  • Help clients with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting independence and skill development.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in home care or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dementia care techniques is a plus.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams are required.
  • A background in nursing or related fields can be advantageous but is not mandatory.
