About the position

As a Personal Carer with BlueCare, you will play a vital role in providing care to clients living in the community, supporting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. This position is part-time and permanent, located in Gladstone and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for completing scheduled visits to clients' homes, where you will engage in one-on-one interactions and assist with daily activities. Your duties will include in-home personal care, daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry, and ironing. You will also provide care in accordance with individualised Care Plans and support clients in community-based recreational and social activities. Additionally, you will assist with transportation and shopping appointments, ensuring that clients can maintain their independence and participate in their communities. Responsibilities

  • Provide care to clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.
  • Complete scheduled visits to clients' homes and interact one-on-one with them.
  • Assist with daily activities including in-home personal care, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry, and ironing.
  • Provide care in accordance with individualised Care Plans.
  • Support clients with community-based recreational and social activities.
  • Assist with transportation and shopping appointments.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability Support, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Current Australian driver's license and roadworthy vehicle as required.
  • Experience in home and community care.
  • Experience with technology including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in providing care to elderly or disabled individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
