About the position

The Personal Community Assistant role involves providing support to a 23-year-old male client diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), and myotonic dystrophy. The assistant will engage the client in various community activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience while managing behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

• Take the client to community events such as the Baltimore Zoo, aquarium, B&O train museum, and trampoline park.
• Engage in recreational activities like bowling and dining at local restaurants.
• Implement behavioral management strategies during outings.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Driver's License with a clean driving record
• 2 years of experience as a Personal Care Assistant
• Behavioral Management skills
• DDA Required (In-Class Training)
• Ability to work 10-15 hours each weekend
• 2 professional references
