About the position

The Personal Development Coach (PDC) is responsible for providing counseling and support to community members and clients of the Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The PDC will manage a caseload of clients, conducting assessments, tracking progress, and engaging clients in various agency services. This role involves outreach, education, and training, as well as maintaining compliance with agency standards and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in achieving established family outcomes and working towards self-sufficiency.
  • Provide outreach, education, and training to CAP clients and the community.
  • Promote engagement in CAP self-sufficiency programming by clients and community members.
  • Maintain accurate monitoring, documentation, and follow-up of family service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start, CSBG, and Agency requirements using CAP60 software.
  • Maintain record-keeping and reporting systems for all HS, CSBG, and Agency standards.
  • Facilitate positive engagement and referrals with all Programs.
  • Monitor client and community needs and provide feedback to Department Directors.
  • Assist in ensuring family engagement and school readiness activities are offered according to standards.
  • Engage in training and professional development activities relevant to the position.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and responding to inquiries.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Sociology, Psychology, Family Service, or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Obtain and maintain Family and Community Development (FCD) certification.
  • Must complete CPR, First Aid, and other necessary training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including SharePoint and experience with relational databases.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and a professional attitude.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of vehicle insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community outreach and engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and CSBG requirements.
