About the position

The Personal Injury Case Manager/Legal Assistant role is focused on managing a high volume of personal injury cases, providing support to clients and attorneys, and ensuring effective communication with insurance carriers and healthcare providers. The position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, as well as strong organizational and negotiation skills to handle case files from intake to closing.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume caseload of 80 plus cases.
• Set up claims and gather necessary claim information.
• Interact daily with existing and potential clients.
• Order medical records from providers and communicate with clients and providers during treatment.
• Obtain documents to support injury and liability positions.
• Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
• Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate deductions of outstanding medical balances with providers.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers involved in case management.
• Maintain organized case files and prepare comprehensive demands for submission to carriers.
• Interact with attorneys and present case synopsis when required.
• Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of attorneys.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager.
• Experience handling 80 or more cases.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Ability to work as a team player and manage tasks effectively.
• Proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Highly organized with the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Time Matters or similar case management software.
