About the position

The Personal Injury Case Manager will support the Personal Injury attorney by managing pre-litigation matters, conducting client interviews, and coordinating with various departments. This role involves overseeing approximately 115 to 125 cases, gathering evidence, negotiating settlements, and ensuring effective communication with clients and insurance carriers. The Case Manager will also assist in the settlement process and maintain organized case files.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage approximately 115 to 125 pre-litigation matters with the assistance of the assigned pod leader and Firm support staff.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and law enforcement officers.
  • Contact third party and first party insurance carriers to open insurance claims.
  • Open Medi-Cal and/or Medicare claims on behalf of the client.
  • Gather police reports and other supporting evidence.
  • Conduct research on third parties, including asset searches and policy limits.
  • Request, receive, and document medical information.
  • Assist clients in resolving property damage claims.
  • Communicate and correspond with clients regarding medical treatment and current symptoms.
  • Communicate and correspond with claims adjusters and treating medical providers.
  • Participate in monthly file reviews with assigned Personal Injury attorney.
  • Gather all necessary documents for the demand writing team.
  • Negotiate settlements with claims adjusters.
  • Assist clients through the settlement process, including communicating offers and negotiating reductions with medical providers.
  • Open and review incoming mail.
  • Assist assigned Personal Injury attorney in tracking and submitting all required government claim forms for assigned matters.
  • Fax, photocopy, scan, and convert or export/import documents to/from other applications.
  • Maintain electronic and hardcopy files in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures.
  • Actively manage each assigned matter with Attorney approval, including reviewing medical reports and scheduling medical appointments.
  • Participate in liability and insurance investigations for all assigned matters.
  • Manage all matters involving governmental entities, including timely filing government claims and following up on rejection notices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management and/or Pod Leader.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Personal Injury law firm.
  • Possess a working knowledge of personal injury pre-litigation matters.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) and other applications (i.e., Adobe, Internet).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, is required.
