About the position

The legal assistant will serve as the first point of contact for clients at Emery Law Office, providing exceptional customer service and support to the law firm. This role involves managing client interactions, assisting with new client onboarding, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the firm.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive first point of contact with the law firm whether in-person or over the phone
• Support new client onboarding by gathering information with empathy and attention to detail
• Handle personal injury case files from initial sign-up through setting up claims and establishing liability then make a coordinated handoff to your teammate on our production team
• Maintain client satisfaction by keeping them updated and assisting them with matters related to their case
• Maintain practice and client confidentiality
• Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters and medical providers to gather information
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls, updating our case management system and keeping case files organized

Requirements

• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Friendly and empathetic interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Technologically savvy: moderate experience working with Google Suite and Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new programs quickly and troubleshoot common issues
• Experience handling personal injury cases is preferred
• Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to pass a background and resume check

Nice-to-haves

• Spanish proficiency is preferred
