About the position

We are searching for a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating legal documents such as complaints and bills of particulars, responding to requests for discovery, and preparing for trial. You will also be tasked with keeping case files and other key materials organized and easily accessible. This position offers a great opportunity for those looking to advance their career in the paralegal profession, particularly within the field of personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal services and be able to work collaboratively with attorneys to ensure the smooth operation of the legal process.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate liens, medical bills, and settlements with providers or insurance companies.
  • Help attorneys create legal pleadings, paperwork, and correspondence, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notifications, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
  • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by researching legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and aiding with client meetings.
  • Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills and time-management skills.
  • NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program completion is strongly preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm.
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree desired.
  • Talented verbal communicator and writer.
