We are currently seeking a highly motivated and adaptable paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. As a Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring that our clients receive the best possible representation. You will be responsible for managing various aspects of personal injury cases, from initial client communication to trial preparation. This position requires a proactive approach to managing deadlines and case files, as well as the ability to conduct legal research and draft essential legal documents. You will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with clients, insurance adjusters, and other legal professionals. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our cases and the satisfaction of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients on a regular basis and keeping them apprised of case status and developments.
  • Calendaring important litigation deadlines, docket control orders, depositions, mediations, and other important dates.
  • Drafting petitions, disclosures, discovery requests/responses, and other legal motions/correspondence.
  • Scheduling depositions and mediations.
  • Creating, organizing, and maintaining case files.
  • E-Filing in State and Federal Court.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and cases are moving through the litigation process and are ready for trial.
  • Researching legal issues, laws, regulations, and finding case law or statutes.
  • Drafting demand letters and other legal correspondence.
  • Negotiating with insurance adjusters.
  • Creating binders for mediations, depositions, and trial; as well as preparing for and attending trials - organizing exhibits, files, and all other case documents, coordinating trial set-up and logistics, assisting attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes, handling exhibits, and marking documents referred to by counsel, assisting in the preparation of witness testimony.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience as a paralegal at a Texas personal injury law firm
  • Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure.
  • Experience with MyCase (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Paralegal Certification (Preferred but not required)
