About the position

The Personal Injury Paralegal will support a boutique New York plaintiff's personal injury firm by managing various tasks related to personal injury litigation. This role involves direct client interaction, handling no-fault issues, and preparing legal documents throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in personal injury law and be bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Handle client intake and communication throughout the litigation process.
  • Manage no-fault issues related to motor vehicle accidents.
  • Submit medical record requests and analyze medical records comprehensively.
  • Manage calendars and schedule court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
  • File documents in state (NYSCEF) and federal (PACER/ECF) courts.
  • Prepare litigation documents including pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demands, and subpoenas.
  • Prepare settlement packages and assist with trial document preparation.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, or paralegal certificate is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a plaintiff's personal injury law firm.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SmartAdvocate preferred; knowledge of Lead Docket is a plus.
