About the position

The Personal Injury Paralegal will support a boutique New York plaintiff's personal injury firm, focusing on representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries. This role involves managing various tasks from client intake to case resolution, ensuring effective communication and documentation throughout the litigation process.

Responsibilities

  • Handle client intake and communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Manage no-fault issues related to motor vehicle accidents.
  • Submit medical record requests and analyze medical records comprehensively.
  • Manage calendars and schedule court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
  • File documents in state (NYSCEF) and federal (PACER/ECF) courts.
  • Prepare litigation documents including pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demands, and subpoenas.
  • Prepare settlement packages and assist with trial document preparation.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree or paralegal certificate is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a plaintiff's personal injury law firm.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SmartAdvocate preferred; knowledge of Lead Docket is a plus.
