About the position

We are seeking a proactive, skilled, and motivated Paralegal/Legal Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of personal injury experience for our pre-suit team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing files from inception to conclusion while being supported by assigned staff and mentored by onsite, accessible attorneys. A hiring bonus of $2,500.00 is also included in the compensation package, which ranges from $53,000 to $60,000 annually. As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will maintain review-ready case files, gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents, and enter pertinent information into the Attorney Software Program. You will also be responsible for communicating and building rapport with clients, adjusters, and physicians' offices, maintaining regular contact with clients, and explaining procedures or forms to them. Your duties will include preparing documents and correspondence, requesting medical records, confirming receipt of all medical records, bills, and liens for medical expenditure reports, and scheduling and calendaring all events and tasks for the case. You will investigate accident claims, work with the attorney on case strategy, prepare files for service of demand, assist the attorney in preparation of demand, and coordinate various types of conferences and meetings. After settlement is executed, you will complete closed file tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain review-ready case files
  • Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents
  • Enter pertinent information into the Attorney Software Program
  • Communicate and build a rapport with clients, adjusters, and physicians' office
  • Maintain contact with clients on a regular basis

  • Schedule and calendar all events and tasks for the case

  • Coordinate settlement conferences, telephone conferences, global settlement conferences, and any other type of conference or digital meeting
  • Prepare settlement statements and all other related settlement tasks
  • Complete closed file tasks after settlement is executed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of personal injury experience is required
  • Ability to work independently organizing and prioritizing tasks for assigned cases
  • Proficiency in computer-based technologies including word processing, telecommunications, database, and document management
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an internal team as well as outside parties including clients, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, adjusters, etc.
  • Diligent proactive task management to completion
  • Provide outstanding and empathetic service to clients
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
