About the position

The Personal Injury Paralegal will provide essential legal support to attorneys specializing in personal injury law. This role involves managing cases from inception to resolution, conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and maintaining case files. The firm is looking for a candidate with a strong knowledge of personal injury law and experience in a legal environment to help clients obtain justice and compensation for their injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution, including intake, investigation, and documentation.
  • Conduct legal research related to personal injury law and regulations for case preparation.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as intakes, complaints, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses for review by attorneys.
  • Organize, analyze, and maintain case files, documents, evidence, and other relevant materials using case management software or other appropriate systems.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, insurance adjusters, and other parties to obtain information, document statements, and schedule appointments, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Review, summarize, and analyze medical records.
  • Assist with the discovery process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to compile settlement demands and negotiate settlements with insurance companies or opposing counsel.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with the court, adhering to applicable court rules and deadlines.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in personal injury law is required.
  • Strong knowledge of personal injury law and experience working in a law firm or legal department is essential.
  • Proficiency in legal document preparation and case management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of LexPI software is highly preferred.
