About the position

Dozier Law is a plaintiff's personal injury firm located in Macon, GA, seeking to hire an experienced Case Manager/Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal support and exceptional customer service to our clients throughout the personal injury case process. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage personal injury cases from inception to resolution. The paralegal will be responsible for maintaining frequent communication with clients, ensuring that they are informed and supported at every stage of their case. In this role, the paralegal will assist attorneys by handling various tasks associated with case management. This includes receiving and returning client communications via phone, fax, and email, as well as completing intake processes and reviewing documents to ensure all necessary information is collected to open a case. The paralegal will generate required personal injury forms and documents using the Case Management program and will be competent in drafting and revising legal documents as directed by the supervising attorney. Additionally, the paralegal will be responsible for data entry into the Case Management program, scanning files, and maintaining organized documentation. The role also involves managing attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, and retrieving necessary medical records while keeping thorough documentation of all interactions and tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury cases from beginning to end.
  • Maintain frequent client contact with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist and support attorneys through all phases of the case.
  • Receive and return clients' calls, faxes, and emails.
  • Complete intake and review intake documents to ensure all necessary information is gathered.
  • Generate required personal injury forms and documents through the Case Management program.
  • Revise or draft documents as directed by the supervising attorney, including complaints, correspondence, demands, pleadings, and settlement documents.
  • Perform data entry into the Case Management program.
  • Scan files and save documents into the Case Management program.
  • Manage and interact with clients, keeping thorough documentation of notes.
  • Complete various tasks as assigned by attorneys in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the scheduling of attorney calendars for client meetings, doctor meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, etc.
  • Retrieve necessary medical records by following procedures and documenting the record type and time period needed.
  • Maintain custody of the physical file and file/update records, correspondence, and documents in an orderly manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program or an associate degree in paralegal studies preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
