About the position

Our fast-growing personal injury law firm in California is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and well-versed in the California legal system, particularly in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. This role will primarily involve assisting attorneys with various aspects of personal injury cases, including car accidents and slip/trip and fall cases. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in the discovery process, which includes drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions. You will also be responsible for preparing and filing legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and deposition notices, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines. Additionally, you will schedule and coordinate depositions, prepare witnesses, and assist with deposition preparation. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining and managing case calendars, tracking court dates, deadlines, and appointments, as well as issuing subpoenas for medical records, police records, and witnesses, and following up to ensure timely responses. You will be expected to organize and maintain case files, both electronic and physical, ensuring all documents are readily accessible. Experience with motions to compel is a plus, and you will assist in drafting and filing motions as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal procedures and court systems in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and case management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred.
