About the position

Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara, LLC is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team in Greenwich, CT. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in personal injury law and litigation in Connecticut. This role involves a variety of responsibilities including drafting legal documents, interfacing with healthcare professionals and insurance companies, and assisting with trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Draft Complaints, Pleadings and Motions
• Interface with Health Care Professionals
• Interface with Insurance Companies regarding coverage issues
• Assist with negotiation of Medicare and other medical liens
• e-Filing and e-Discovery
• Schedule and calendar depositions, hearings and mediations
• Heavy client contact - file intake, client interviews, information gathering
• Gather case evidence, medical records and documentation as needed
• Issue subpoenas to witnesses for depositions and trial appearance
• Assist with Trial Preparation
• Prepare and update case correspondence
• Maintain and update case lists

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• 3+ years of experience in Personal Injury Law and Litigation in Connecticut
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills and aptitude
• Knowledge of CT Court Rules and practice
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Deadline and detail-oriented
