About the position

Burrow & Associates is seeking a Pre-litigation Paralegal/Case Manager to join our Duluth office. In this position, you will be responsible for managing personal injury cases from the initial report through to the handoff to litigation paralegals. You will discern personal injury reports, establish claims with adjusters, and draft necessary correspondence, including demands and letters of representation. Your organizational skills will be crucial in maintaining client files and ensuring confidentiality. You will also be expected to obtain and analyze medical records and bills, demonstrating a working knowledge of various insurance types, including automobile and health insurance. Collaboration is key in our firm, and you will work closely with a team to achieve our goals while taking direction from supervising attorneys. Attention to detail is essential, as you will independently handle an average caseload of personal injury cases. Responsibilities

  • Discern personal injury reports and establish claims with adjusters
  • Draft demands and other related correspondence
  • Obtain medical records and medical bills for clients
  • Maintain excellent organizational skills to effectively manage files
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and confidentiality
  • Draft initial letters of representation for personal injury clients
  • Utilize excellent communication skills for client and adjuster relations
  • Employ working knowledge of automobile insurance and health insurance, including ERISA
  • Obtain and analyze relevant medical records for the injured
  • Learn and use case management software, such as Needles and/or Amicus
  • Work collaboratively with a team to accomplish firm goals and take direction from supervising attorneys
  • Display excellent attention to detail
  • Independently handle an average personal injury caseload from start until handoff to litigation paralegal

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 years of personal injury experience preferred
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of automobile and health insurance, including ERISA

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with case management software such as Needles or Amicus
  • Bilingual in Spanish
