About the position

The Personal Injury/Workers Comp Legal Assistant/Paralegal position is a critical role within a newly established personal injury practice that is expanding from an existing law firm specializing in Social Security Disability Law. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who is familiar with legal procedures and has a strong background in document management. The candidate will also assist in developing legal strategies and case plans, coordinate with other legal professionals, and ensure efficient case management. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing documents and evidence for litigation
  • Manage and maintain accurate and organized case files and documents
  • Conduct research and gather information to support legal claims
  • Interview clients and witnesses to gather information for cases
  • Review and proofread documents and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Assist in the development of legal strategies and case plans
  • Coordinate with other legal professionals and stakeholders to ensure efficient case management
  • Utilize document management systems such as iManage to maintain and organize documents
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as paralegal studies, law, or a related field
  • Experience working as a paralegal in personal injury cases
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency in document management systems such as iManage
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Familiarity with environmental and patent law
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Knowledge of estate planning and the legal implications of personal injury cases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
