About the position

As a Personal Lines Product Analyst at COUNTRY Financial, you will be a critical member of our PL Market Management team (formerly State Product Management), reporting to the Personal Lines Product Analytics Supervisor. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance product insights for Personal Lines Market Managers by advancing product analytics and driving our analytic and competitive tools and data. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to influence the future of Personal Lines by providing analytic and data-driven tactical support to local markets, ultimately driving business success. In this position, you will drive the successful development of new products and manage existing products effectively. This includes making recommendations regarding product design, pricing, underwriting, agency management, distribution, claims, and other processes. You will ensure that overall goals for production and underwriting profitability are met by analyzing premium rates, loss experience, and retention. Additionally, you will monitor the mix of business in assigned states, identifying changes and the reasons behind those changes. You will collaborate with marketing to develop business profit and growth strategies for assigned states, translating business ideas and market opportunities into new product ideas. This will involve researching and maintaining awareness of major competitors' current market positions, including rates, service levels, financial positions, operating strategies, business directions, financial dynamics, and new technologies. Furthermore, you will communicate and coordinate key profit metrics by working closely with the Information Technology (IT) department to ensure proper implementation of rate revisions, new products, new product features, and other initiatives. Building working relationships with Accounting, Actuarial, Claims, Customer Service, and IT will also be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business ideas and market opportunities into new product ideas by researching competitors' market positions.
  • Communicate and coordinate key profit metrics with the IT department for proper implementation of rate revisions and new products.
  • Develop working relationships with Accounting, Actuarial, Claims, Customer Service, and IT.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to small groups.
  • Knowledge of personal lines insurance products and processes.
  • Experience with forecasting and modeling.
  • Experience with SQL and understanding of relational databases.
  • Typically requires 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
