About the position

As a Personal Lines Underwriter at AmShield Insurance, you will play a crucial role in evaluating insurance applications to determine the acceptability of coverage for various lines of insurance. Your primary responsibilities will include examining applications, rating and evaluating risks, and making informed decisions regarding coverage. You will also be tasked with evaluating existing business, exercising independent judgment on retention and rating, and ensuring that all underwriting practices align with company standards. In this position, you will communicate effectively with policyholders and collaborate with various departments, including Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Customer Communications, and the Law Department. Your role will involve providing services related to coverage, rating, and risk evaluation, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and satisfied with the underwriting process. Additionally, you will perform varied duties such as writing and analyzing reports, completing necessary forms, participating in departmental and company committees, and utilizing computer systems for data management. Field trips to assigned districts may also be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the risks associated with the policies you underwrite. Responsibilities
