About the position

Monarch E&S, a leading property and casualty insurance wholesaler and managing general agency (MGA), is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriting Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for an individual who possesses a strong background in underwriting and customer service, particularly in commercial lines. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience quoting and servicing commercial lines with multiple carriers. We are looking for someone who is honest, positive, and a true team player, with the ability to work independently and stay organized. A passion for positively impacting the lives of our clients is essential. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all company correspondence in a timely manner, which includes providing assistance with audits, binders/invoicing, and endorsements. You will respond promptly to requests from the brokerage team, underwriters, retailers, or managers regarding account servicing issues. Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients and underwriters is crucial for enhancing new and ongoing business relationships. You will also act as a liaison between broker clients and underwriters, ensuring that all account documentation is managed effectively. Additionally, you will be tasked with initiating cancellation and non-renewal notices according to statutory and contractual requirements, maintaining a suspense system for follow-ups on policies, endorsements, inspection reports, and claims. Staying current with industry knowledge through workshops, seminars, and continuing education is also a key part of this position. The ideal candidate will have experience with AIM & ImageRight, although this is not mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Provide and/or assist with audits, binders/invoicing, and endorsements through managing all company correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Respond promptly to all requests from brokerage team, underwriters, retailers, or managers regarding account servicing issues.
  • Develop a professional rapport with clients and underwriters to enhance new and ongoing business relationships.
  • Follow departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance standards.
  • Act as liaison between broker clients and the underwriter to manage all account documentation.
  • Initiate cancellation and non-renewal notices according to statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain suspense system and follow-up for receipt of policies, endorsements, inspections reports, correspondence, claims, etc. from outside sources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry through attendance of virtual workshops, seminars, literature reviews and/or formal continuing education.
  • Order inspections and renewals in company portal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of wholesale insurance experience.
  • State specific Insurance License.
  • High School graduate required; College courses preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Commercial Lines E&S products.
  • Previous work experience in insurance underwriting and customer service with a successful track record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations.
