About the position

The Avaline at River Oaks is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Service Assistant (PSA) to provide direct care and support to senior residents in our assisted living and memory care community. The role focuses on ensuring residents are well cared for, happy, and healthy, with responsibilities that include engaging with residents, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance to senior residents, including grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, and medication assistance.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional status to the nursing staff.
• Assist with activities of daily living, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Participate in recreational activities with residents and assist with transportation to and from appointments or outings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and coworkers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or senior care setting preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
