As a Personal Shopper at Brookshire Grocery Company, you will play a crucial role in preparing online customer orders by selecting quality products with speed and accuracy. You will be expected to stay current on product selection and standards, which is essential for providing an excellent shopping experience. In this position, you will prepare orders received online by accurately selecting products from shelves and organizing them for order pick-up. You will also identify out-of-stock items, recommend suitable substitutions, and promote any advertised specials. Ensuring accurate checkout totals for customers is vital, which involves properly weighing, keying, and scanning items. You will need to remain knowledgeable about food safety standards to guarantee the quality and freshness of the orders. Additionally, you will be responsible for placing orders in storage at the appropriate food temperature and retrieving them promptly before the customer's arrival. Your role will also involve organizing, bagging, and loading orders into customer vehicles. Maintaining a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude is essential, as you will assist customers with their online orders, answer questions, respond to complaints, and provide substitution options. You will need to be familiar with product codes and remain updated on promotional items. Furthermore, you will be expected to adhere to tender policies and procedures related to various payment methods. Safety is a priority, so you will take precautions when handling objects to avoid damage and maintain a clean and sanitary working environment. You will also have the opportunity to use suggestive selling initiatives to promote product sales.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Six or more months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 16 years of age required; 21 years of age required in Louisiana.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of cash register operations.
  • Basic mathematical and counting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food quality standards.
  • Basic knowledge of temperature and refrigeration standards for selected products.
  • Ability to determine ideal ripeness in produce.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with customers and partners.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
