About the position

As a Personal Support Assistant (PSA) / Caregiver at Dungarvin, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and/or mental health diagnoses. This live-in position offers a unique opportunity to provide personal and companion care in a residential setting, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support. You will work directly with individuals, assisting them in their daily activities and helping them achieve their personal goals. Your responsibilities will include providing assistance with personal care, companionship, and support in community activities, all while fostering a respectful and collaborative environment. You will be a dependable and adaptable caregiver, committed to person-centered practices that prioritize the needs and preferences of those you support. Your ability to observe details and maintain a positive attitude will be essential in providing high-quality care. Responsibilities

  • Provide personal and companion care to individuals in a residential setting.
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care needs.
  • Support individuals in community activities and outings.
  • Create a respectful and collaborative environment for individuals served.
  • Document care and support services using computer skills.
  • Encourage and mentor individuals to reach their personal goals.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and flexible in approach to caregiving.
  • Observant and detail-oriented to ensure quality care.
  • Ability to work as a positive role model and part of a team.
  • Commitment to person-centered practices and creating a respectful environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in caregiving or human services is preferred but not mandatory.
